I am fairly certain that Wal*Mart is worse for leaving people on hold then any other business ever.
I've been "promoted" to area supervisor with a marketing company that I do bits of work with every now and then. I basically do the same thing that I always have, but now I have a title and get paid more. The only difference I can really see is that I get to brief new reps and have to actually call stores and confirm stuff.
This is why I am currently on hold at Wal*Mart. I suppose that I should ask them in person, but it actually seems worse to do so. I've met these folks, they aren't all that great (excluding, of course, the ones that I have met which are not complete dicks).
I'm no longer on hold. The fourteen year old sounding boy who answered the phone told me that he isn't able to transfer me to the person that I need to speak to and I've had to call back. Did you know that it takes, on average, 12 rings for a Wal*Mart employee to answer the telephone?

I had two thirds of my children cry about EnglandBoy leaving so far. I am actually surprised because neither was the one who seems all "daddy's girl" with him.
Hopefully our new Ikea stuff will keep them occupied. Or perhaps I am hoping that will work with me.
